::One week's gone just like THAT. Came back from NTU, break for the weekend... Need to come back on Monday. Spent the entire week in Nanyang Technological University. Hostel life not that bad... Lets see what happened for the past week.
[Mon]
Arrived at school at 8. Met Mr Wu and Dr. Yeo, Micheal's father.. Also ex-montfortian.. He's the reason why this whole attachment could happen at the first place. Paid farewell to Mr. Wu and the school. Dr. Yeo offered us a lift there, arrived there roughly an hour later. Been to NTU before, sec 1 I think... Went to watch some JC band performance, some of our ex-members performing.. If i remembered, the place was huge.. But that was at night, could get the exact proportions.. We arrived at the North Spine, I think just the North Spine is bigger than our school.. Waited for the other schools at the general office... Nanyang Girls, SJI, River Valley, Chinese High and us... Went to the meeting room for a briefing... Prof David Butler told us somethings about what they are doing at the School of Mechanical and Production Engineering... One of the many schools in the university... Guess what, out of the 6 choices we were given, I was the only one who put Fuel Cells as my first choice... So paired up with this SJI guy, Sean Lee... Was hoping to be grouped with at least one gal... Lucky Elwin, altough there are only 3 members, he grouped with 2 other gals.. One from Nanyang and the other from River Valley... They doing Human Factors... After that, we walked down the the hostels.. Entire NTU build on hills.. So lotsa steps and climbs... So we check in to our rooms, 2 to a room. Shared the room with Elwin... At first when I opened the room, it smelt damn musty.. Just need to air for a while... Not really like my own room.. At least my mattrews are clean.. Had to lay out the bed sheet and everything.. There's a stack of pillows and bedsheets, dunno whats that for.. Until one of the gals came knocking on our door... Had to distribute the bedsheets, pillows and everything to everyone else... Next door was Cliff's and Dave's, connected via the toilet.. So could easily pop in... After we had unpacked everything, went to Jurong Point for lunch.. Quite awhile since i last went there... Took 179 from the wrong stop, went an entire round round the campus before leaving... Had MOS burger, walked for a while.. Came back just in time, suppose to meet at 2... Then me and Sean met Prof Chan, one of our supervisors.. Went down to B2, where the fuel cells lab was.. He explained what a fuel cell was etc.. Made to read some notes.. Couldn't understand one bit.. Then went to a seminar, the guy showed us all these complicated formulaes and graphs.. More confused.. Probably not meant for us, but for the other professors... Dismissed from there, went back to the hostel to change.. Went back to JP to have dinner, decided not to have lunch there, the canteens were enough... Thats about the end of the day...
[Tues]
Woke up well before the 8am alarm i set, was just lying there on the bed... Went to Canteen A to have breakfast, had chicken porridge... Thought was suppose to meet at 2pm so took my time.. Then went to the library to read up on fuel cells since i had nothing to do... Elwin's going there too, with his group... Grab a book to read, damn chiem... Somewhat understand, but all those technical stuff, at a complete lost.. Found out that the other 2 gals from Elwin's team were Bernadette and Wanwang... Funny names... David and Micheal, from my school, were there too... Spent the morning in the library, then had char siew rice for lunch.. Went back to the lab.. Sean wasn't there, so went in anyway.. Was told that we were suppose to come at 9.. Opps, some sort of communication break down.. Didn't do much to me, just asked me to read some E-Book while I wait for Sean... He came at 3.30... When he came, shown how to use the CorelDraw software for designing our fuel cell.. So spent the rest of the time there discussing.. At least made some progress... Then had dinner at JP, Long John Silver's... Then later went back, set up me clarinet, cliff wanted to play, so let him.. Couldn't produce a not, while i make it look so easy... Then Cliff brought his laptop, so went online after he had used it...
[Wed]
Woke up about the same time, had a quick shower, wore long pants, OP shirt with a blue shirt draped over... Ate roti prata, quite spicy... Met sean at the lab, designed some more.. Had lunch early, then went back, around 2 we were told to stop... We had to go for the Robotics Research Centre tour... They have this cool robot there, controlled by PDA.. Cool, had the chance to play with it... Saw other robot stuff there, went for a short tea break, then continued work.. Were told that the Human Factors people need to test their keypad, so me and sean "volunteered".. Haha, just another excuse... Cliff arranged for a Movie later that night... Mainly us and the River Valley people going... Ate dinner at Canteen 1, much better, at least they had air-con... Watched The Chronicles Of Riddick, nice show, Riddick damn sleek, with his pearl looking eyes.. Vin Diesel... Came back quite late, 12, almost missed the bus... Cliff went for a jog round the campus to burn off his excess energy.. Crazy, midnight run... Asked me to time him... Anyway, fell asleep...
