well, my journey in band has come to an end.. M8 was great, although there was quite a few mistakes in the music.. but thoroughly enjoyed the concert overall..
everyone was ready at the foyer with their instruments and all.. matthew was with the sec 1s..

Matthew and the sec 1s..
the percussion instruments were already moved down, just waiting for the bus.. then this small open-air lorry came.. all the percussion instruments were suppose to fit into there? so have to move some of the smaller percussion instruments to the woodwind bus.. really cramp.. so the timpani, mallets, the stomp backdrop etc had to wait for another lorry to come..
had a technical run-through of the concert, with the lighting etc.. then had dinner at about 5.30.. was quite nice actually.. the last dinner- 2 drumsticks with some sweet sause, scrambled eggs, veggies and rice.. wish we had more time to savour the food, had to go get ready for the concert already.. went to change, then recieved a message from Jill saying she wants 2 more tickets.. just in time? got 3 tickets still in my bag, went to get the tickets and reserved them for Joey and her friend.. got instruments then went into the hall to do a final tuning.. managed to snap a quick shot..

the main band.. (some people trying to aviod the camera by acting to pick up something from the floor??)
only finished at 6.45, then had to let the audience in already.. was getting a little nervous, cause had 3 solos for LOTR? most a few bars only, but solo nonetheless..
Ross Roy was ok, cause mostly its loud? but Princess Mononoke has lotsa solos, and soft.. like oboe solos.. could hear hanwen's nervous.. the sound alittle shaky, but much better than what he had ever done.. Concerto Dynamico was also ok, played it dunno how many million times.. LOTR up next.. mine is the first of a series of solos, sorta a introduction to the main theme by the flute.. then its was back to me again.. with "hobbits".. everything was ok, the sound quality, the articulation.. but maybe could play alittle louder? then had to move off for the junior band.. went to change into the 2nd half attire.. met Jill outside for awhile, just to say Happy Birthday, cause her birthday was just 2 days ago?
2nd half was much better.. with "stomp", didn't really see the actual performance, in their "stomp" attire, only saw their rehearsals.. flashing winds then followed by Abba Gold.. think the audience really like the part where we clarinets swayed our instruments to the beat? "Fernando".. cute.. then it was Shrek Dance Party.. play play play, then me, wen shao, kenneth, wilson, matthew and hippo suddenly drop our instruments and walked out on stage.. "ah, ah, ah, ah, staying alive, staying alive!" danced along with the band as they played "staying alive".. a big round of applause after we finished our dancing.. great sense of achievement.. YMCA was another melody in shrek.. sprayed the letters Y M C A onto neon paper and pasted it on styrofoam backing.. also made 2 exclaimation marks, looks very comical though.. the blues factory was up next, love the ending.. everyone holding a chord, while a the drumset bang bang bang bang.. a foot-stomping close to the piece.. anyway I was the one who chose the piece? our SYF piece next.. American Riversongs.. played about the same as on SYF day, without the clanking of the valves accompanying the tuba solo..
the usual after concert stuff.. Concerto D'amore followed by the School Song.. asked KC to help us take some pics..

our last pic as a section..
brought all the stuff down, Max was dunk by the alumni, and we all went back to school joyfully.. Max like dripping water all over the place.. unloaded all the stuff, moved the percussion instruments.. one final fall-in for the sec 4s.. was thinking back through this 4 years, what I have done and what I didn't do.. gave everyone in sight a hug before I left..
my journey has ended..
just wanna thank all those who came... bernadette, jill, raidah, yik kwang, lian jie and my classmates and of course my family.. M8 won't be the same without you guys...
