real sorry for the lack of updates lately.. been extremely busy this past week.. would update on my trip to Gold Goast and the class outing to Escape as soon as I get some time..
these past 3 days and only had 4 letters in my mind.. SYPA.. or Singapore Young Photographer Award for the uninitiated..
selected the final 6 pics the night before and did some touch up on Tues morning.. got some comments from those who were online.. turns out that Charmaine was also participating in SYPA.. got out of the house by 3, then headed to Compass Point to get the 6 printed.. sending in 2 8Rs and 4 S8Rs, and 2 monochrome prints out of that 4.. had 4 hours to get the rest of the stuffs before they were due.. took 80 but alighted at Hougang knowing how long the ride can get.. took MRT instead to Bugis, and got to Art Friend at Bras Basah.. the black mounting board was huge.. thought it would come in a smaller size but it didn't.. had to cut it in half into a more manageable size.. but still, it was akward.. went to the National Library to borrow some books since I'm in the area anyway.. took 133 to the bus stop outside NY and 156 to CP.. the prints were quite good.. except for 1.. didn't turn out the way I expected.. went back, cut the board into size.. still haven't got the mounting spray and titles for the pics..
spent the Wednesday morning sorting through my Australia pics to select some for printing.. 200 4Rs and a pano.. wanted to meet up with Charmaine and submit together, but still haven't got everything done.. needed to reprint that pic.. went to Hougang Point, only to find that outlet has closed down.. missed the 72 by a few secs, so went to buy a drink during the 5 min interval between buses.. then another disappointment, the outlet at Hougang Mall didn't have glossy S8R.. took 153 to Toa Payoh to get the Australia pics printed.. at 25 cents a piece, it turned out exactly $50.. plus $2 for that pano shot.. went back to Bras Basah.. there was a photolab there, so reprinted 2 pics there.. got the rest of the stuff at the huge Popular outlet there during the wait.. the prints were much better than the previous ones.. got back home and finally mounted the prints.. the prints look good on their own, but mounted on the black mounting board.. !!

my sextet..
of course it does no justice to them if you just view them on a monitor.. its like viewing a picture of a painting and viewing the actual painting itself..
brought along the prints to my PW meeting today.. just wanna ask them for some ideas for titles.. went back to Montfort to sit in for their rehearsal for awhile.. Thomas and Clement were there also.. they've grown somewhat since the last time I saw them.. voice also changed.. anyway, if you ask me, the band still don't sound like they should 1 day from the concert.. got back to do the labels.. and guess what.. halfway though I ran out of black ink.. so literally ran to the shop to get another cartridge.. then a paper jam threatened to end it all, but managed to remove it..
had some difficulty finding the place.. would have found it eventually if I just wandered around abit more, but that would take time.. called Lian Jie for some help since he happened to be online at that time.. had a great sense of relief after handing over the set of prints.. then went back to Toa Payoh to collect the Australia pics..

so presenting to you, the 6 entries.. do leave a tag to let me know what you think... thanks..

Prints: $28
Mounting Board: $14.90
Adhesive Spray: $18.50
Labels: $4.90

Seeing your photos in all its glory: Priceless..

hopefully, the next time I see my prints, it would be on exhibit somewhere.. but lets not get my hopes too high now...
