Quite awhile since I last blogged.. Was playing Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 for the past few days... Working on a major park... Maybe even beat my old RCT2 park... 2500+ guests, 22 rollercoasters, 40+ mechanics and janitors.. park rating almost full... Built it from scratch, just a giant plot of land... Well this park's smaller, in terms of the dimensions.. But definately much better, 3D and all.. Named "Islands of Fun", cause thats what it is, Islands of Fun... Maybe I can get a screenshot or something... don't really know how though.. still in its construction stages, still got lots more areas of the park that hasn't been developed.. haven't added much scenery, trees and such to the park.. Would get alittle laggy as I build the park up... Desktop would do a better job...
Cousins came today, Dominic and Lynette.. Kenneth, Dominic's brother is in Australia currently... Educational trip there... Beed to Australia once, also with the school.. Adelaide, farm stay.. very unforgettable experience.. especially liked the Aussie's night sky... seems to me that they have more stars in the sky.. even could make out galaxies, something you can't do in Singapore... Must be the city lights and pollution...
Went with them to Compass Point, Jack's Place... Had black pepper steak... Very nice, if you ever been there, you'll know... Soft, yet firm.. One of my favourites... Came back, continued with my construction, then I'm here.. On my bean bag chair, with my laptop, well, on my lap...

Went to the 2 day Fuel Cells workshop by SIMTech the past 2 days.. so here's a recap
Day 1
Arrived at school at about 7.15.. early , so went to 7-11 to get a bite.. pocky and milo bar.. then walked back to school, just about time.. lotsa sec 4s around, "O"s i guess.. Lian Jie was there already.. bought a can of soya milk from the vending machine.. wait.. called Mr Wu, said he was coming.. Mdm Amalia came to meet us, the lab techinician of our labs... well, took a taxi to Biopolis.. nice place, high tech looking.. well, we were the first to arrive.. don't see other schools there.. about 8.15am... suppose to register at 8.30.. well, a lady came by, took our names and we were done.. 2 buses came, we embarked, off the SIMTech @ NTU... deja vu... very near the fuel cell lab I spent 10 days in... NTU attachment... well, presentation on what fuel cells are, hydrogen safety video... lunch.. not bad, catering service.. was going to assemble our very own fuel cell after lunch... briefing on how to assemble.. lian jie took down some note, thank goodness for that.. although most of the info I can store in my head.. haha.. got plently of pictures and video.. took bad can't upload video onto my blogs.. if not.. well, tested our fuel cells... ours maybe one of the best.. registered a voltage of 0.95V on the multimeter.. the rest only got about 0.80V... co-operated with the Nan Chiau people... cut myself while enlarging the hole of the stopper to the bottle which produces the hydrogen for our fuel cell (long sentence eh?) they also got around 0.95... well thats the end of Day 1..
Day 2
Well, today we met later... at around 8.30.. reached Biopolis at around 9... again embarked on the bus.. was going to the Diamler Chrysler Fuel Cell centre at Pandan Loop.. Bus took some time to get there.. Well, had my first glimspe of 1 of 2 fuel cells cars in Singapore... Mercerdes Benz "A" Class... Took some pics.. then some representive explained to us how the conventional internal combustion engine works, then how the fuel cell car works.. while this was going on, the rest of the group was taking turns on the fuel cell car... can't wait for our turn.. waited quite awhile for our turn.. while waiting took a look at the posters and bourchures... Lian Jie went with another group.. can seat 3 passengers, so don't waste.. Hydrogen isn't that cheap you know... then my turn, with the SJI boys... smooth ride... hardly know the engine is running.. utterly silent.. no emission.. I think this IS the way for the future.. if only they can lower that $2 million price tag... then Singapore would truly be the green city... all cars emit only water... that would be the dream.. then had lunch there at the facility... spagetthi, fried rice, good food... even better than yesterday.. then left for the BP hygrogen refilling station at East Coast... Travelling across the island.. Lian Jie fell asleep on the way.. The refilling station doesn't look any different from any other petrol station.. Only difference is one of the pumps dispense Hydrogen gas instead of petrol.. Really convinced that hydrogen is safe.. people usually visualise the Hindenburg Airship diaster when you mention Hydrogen... they found out that it was the airship's covering or "skin" that was to blame... Hydrogen's non-toxic, unlike petrol, breathing in it would cause any harm... Odour-less, colour-less, so you won't even know if it is there.. so there's hydrogen sensors to detect it.. By comparison, hydrogen is much safer than conventional fossil fuels... people just need to know it more.. people accept the risk that is petrol because of the safety precautions when handling it... the same can be said for hydrogen.. I think that 2 fuel cells cars won't have much public awareness the government needs if it wants fuel cells to be sucessful in Singapore... a better idea is the Fuel Cell Bus... maybe SBS Transit can implement it... much more public awareness can be created by this... the cost of fuel cells would be the major factor in fuel cell cars.. What Singaporeans would ask first is: "How much does it cost? $2million?!?!?! Rather *#%^&%!^^@@!@*..." not "What safety precautions are installed in the car?" So thats my 2-cents worth...
Then went to the pasir ris carpark to see the fuel cell powered carpark.. basically all experimental... powered by natural gas, the reformer in the fuel cell extracts the hydrogen from the gas.. well, singapore is one of the largest refinaries in the world... so the present gas piping would be feasible for stationary fuel cells... guess what 88 bus stop just besides the car park.. so went home from there

Fever subsided I suppose... didn't wake up in hot sweat today... went to collect some reading material for the fuel cell challenge at around noon... with Lian Jie, no idea why he signed up, well i signed up cause I have previous knowledge... gained more than friends in that NTU attachtment eariler this year you know... then had lunch... came back home.. PK came over.. the other com's back, so i set it up.. had a round of checkers with his brother kinda fun.. checkers' the only thing that com can play multiplayer-ly.. kinda slow 800mhz only... can't imagine I was using that before i had this baby... not the fastest, nor the most memory, but it serves me well... the widescreen is the feature i like about it most.. gives me whole lots of screen space..
