::the final 2 days of the year... woke up at about 11am.. family already up, and changed.. so quickly changed and we left the house.. went to Tampines Mall.. watched Kung Fu hustle.. kinda nice, lotsa digital effects... but the plot quite thin.. whats the lolipop got to do with the movie.. only like show it once, then no other effect on the movie... show ended bout 2+.. the went to eat lunch at the food court... bought a book at Yamaha Music Plaza.. Clarinet book, some hits like Eternal Flame, Mama Mia etc... includes a CD in the book... nice.. dunno who's the one playing the clar, sounds very jazzy... see if I can get it up on the blog... then went to Expo, Metro's post christmas sale.. walked around.. didn't buy much.. I bought some tolberone chocs.. 4 for $10, I admit I'm somewhat a chocoholic!! love any kinds of chocs.. only kind of chocs I don't like are the almond kind.. not whole or chopped almonds kind, but those with essence or something.. hate the smell... then went to Funan, got a desktop for my bro.. he keeps on asking for it.. using the new com to type out this post right now... hah...

::Just finished band practice... still in school uniform while typing this out... played through some of Akiyama... One of many practices Mr Tan printed out for us.. Jason (he's the Librarian ma...) had to carry all the printed materials... was like 5 bags of it.. nicely binded together.. "band textboook" thats what he calls it... then went through Braziliana... love the way he interprets the piece... tell us to think of a latin american guy and gal.. Flirting/Suducing each other.. haha.. 3 movements, namely "Cha Cha Cha" "Calypso" "Samba"... especially like Cha Cha Cha (love saying that, come on say it with me cha cha cha, cha cha cha, hahaa.. ) woodwind the feminine gal and brass the masuline guy.. haha.. then went through the other movements too.. he a surprise for us at the end..
Guess what... Changing conductors yet again.. Mr Ng was with us for 2 years, Mr Tan with us for 2 weeks.. Mr Leng gonna be our new conductor.. WHY you ask? well, seems like Mr Tan can't drop any of his current bands, since we're approaching SYF... maxed out... I think my batch has seen the most conductor changes ever... 4, Mr Tay to Mr Ng to Mr Tan, now to Mr Leng.. I think we should get some kind of record for that...

::Just came back from watching National Treasure.. kinda nice though, like something from one of Jule Verne's books... watched the 9.45pm show... so just came back... family only left the house about 8... hard to get moving once your at home... mostly we go out at round 2 or 3 if it was planned...
the day before was much better... 25th Dec, christmas... Went to me cousin's new house.. somewhere at Telok Baru or something.. near Kembagan.. was it big... has an indoor swimming pool, sundeck, plasma tvs, the works... my cousin's are rich... I'm considered the poorest... most live in private house etc... by the way, the lucky brats who live in this huge thing called their house are Dominic and Kenneth... me 2nd aunt's... by the way, this is their 4th house... they started with a 5-room HDB somewhere in marine parade area, then to a semi-detatched in Loyang Rise, to a condo in Tropical Spring in Simei, then to here... they haven't offically moved out of the condo yet... thats why the house seems so empty... probably renting out the condo when they move in here... well, ate lunch there... played with me other cousin's mostly kids.. Me, Dominic and Lynette are the oldest respectively... then it was time to open the presents... not actually open, cause we knew what was inside.. All had to write down what they wanted, not costing more than $50... so we only get one present each...
Me and me brother's were the smallest presents among the whole lot.. I asked for 10 Vandoren V12 2 and a half reeds... I think the christmas spirit is somewhat diluted and commericalized in Singapore... well the 10 reeds were not for myself,decided to give them to me section tomorrow... me brother got $50 worth of popular vouchers... dunno what he'll spend it on though...
Although we only celebrate Christmas once a year.. I believe the spirit of it should live on through out the year.. Not the funny fuzzy feeling you get when you walk down Orchard Road... Its just mega-watts of electricity thats all... But the spirit of giving.. sharing.. Especially leaders, leaders in whatever ways, should acknowledge team's effort... Give back to the team what the team has given you... A leader is nothing without his men.. (sounds like some quote from some famous dead guy..) Although I hold a high-ranking post in the band... I'm still a humble leader, I hardly make use of the rank given to me... I never shout or scream at anyone... The only time I'll raise my voice is when sectionals... Only to come above the noise and all... the 12 reeds, (luckily I bought 2 extra, cause there are 12 in me section) are just my little way of saying thank you to me section... Montfort Clarinets!!

::Been tweaking with my blog for the past few days, cause no band practice... Now there's a counter... at 400+ since 1st June 2004 now... quite a reasonable number.. that works out to 2 visits a day... mostly from my friends...
My pics has a new template now... much nicer than the default template by blogger... Silver-green... Added a tag-board, counter... Trying to upload as many pics to the blog.. But nice ones... My entire pic collection's 3GB!!! Just nice can burn into a DVD... oh yea, Merry Christmas, before I forget...

::We're approaching the final week of 2004... Mr Ng left.. Mr Leonard Tan took over... First actual practice with him today... Sec 1 attendence terrible... can count on my 2 hands... Tried out our possible choice piece today.. From whom all blessings flow.. from a hymn... don't think many of us convinced that he wants us to play this for SYF... but have no time... this may be our best shot at gold... if we wanna change our choice piece, better change it now.. not much time left to practice...

::Not gonna tell what happened in my day or that sort in this post... Fess it all out here... Been browsing roung Friendster for the past 15mins... read all the testimonals of my friends etc... All like bursting with testimonals and friends... I don't think any amount of testimonals would reflect even a single percent of that person... Sure, it may show the person's outside or what friends think of that person... What really separates the true friends is their abillity to see within... Able to see beyond the surface level... Well me, I haven't found a person who'll fit that description.. I don't care whether he/she remembers my birthday.. I don't care whether he/she knows what colour I like... What I want in a friend is that understanding... Example, Timothy thinks I'm just a lameass, while HT all he cares bout is his computer game... The only person who I truly regard as a friend is Lam... Not that close to him now, ever since he went to E2 and me E1... I always try to remain neutral socially... Don't belong to any cliques or anything like that... Even Joel has all his loser friends... Think the reason people want to group together is the security the group provides.. I feel secure by my very lonesone... Althought a companion would be nice... I think I spent too much time by myself.. Usually would go to some shopping mall to just look around.. Mostly electronics and stuff.. When I'm with myself, I usually do lotsa think.. (what else can you do?) Not think out loud... People would recommend you to the Woodbrigde Hospital immediately... Most of the time I would think about some great notion, something you would expect from a philosopher... Like "whats the role of us humans anyway.. plants give us oxygen to breath.. Life itself depends on plants.. then whats our purpose... can life survive without us?" That kinda stuff... People would think I'm crazy walking to PS, (read my 15th Oct post) but it gives me lotsa time to be with myself.. Maybe thats how I revise.. Ask Heng Tee, he'll know..

::Can't believe its 19th Dec already... Still haven't TOUCHED my homework... better start doing next week... Next week would be the last time will be seeing Mr Ng.. Mr Leonard Tan taking over as of 22nd Dec.. Went to one of his band's concert today.. SJC.. It didnt' leave that much of an impression on me... Lacked the "WOW" factor.. After the concert, went to compass point with Wen Shao, Timothy and Luis... First time stepping into Starbucks... the thing that struck me the most is the damn price of the coffee... !!! Had a Caramel Frappacinno, nice... Then went to the Library.. Met Jeanna and March and gang on the way there... Browsed around, then went to the coms... Surf.. Then coincidently met up with Timothy and gang again...

::At Montfort Junior School right now... Helping out me pri school teacher in the camp.. So stayed overnight... Wednesday nothing much, had band practice as usual... This time I got to conduct the combined sections, clarinets, flutes, trumpets.. Gerald Chan didn't come... Then accompanied Saiful to Compass Point to collect his glasses... Wait for an hour for his friend to come, got fustrated and decided to go to his house personally to collect... Got his specs/shades back... Not really specs, more of shades... Then ate lunch @ Rivervale Mall... Went back, packed my stuffs, went to Sir's Camp... At the com lab as usual, most of my pri 6 classmates were there... Playing Counter-Strike... Brought my laptop there also, thats why I can blog now...
Second day, needed to uproot all the corn in the rooftop garden.. Then had to transport the soil down 6 levels to the eco-garden, to be dumped on the plots... Used the rubbish bin as a container for the soil... Freaking heavy... Lucky there is a lift... For the whole afternoon, shifting the soil down... Couldn't wait to bathe... Refreshed...

::Alot have been happening for the past 3 days... thurs, went to meet Jeanna and her friend March.... Passed her the combined clarinet photos.. Wen Shao with me too... Went to Toa Payoh, they have band later, Toa Payoh have a direct bus to their school... had lunch at the mcdonalds there... about 1 already, rest of the day free.. accompanied wen shao to Bishan, wanted to buy comics.. still have lotsa time to kill, went to compass point.. library, borrowed a book on Quantum theory.. chiem...
Friday there's band.. Mr Ng announced to us his departure from our band.. one of the reasons why we had the exchange with St. Margaret because Mr Leonard Tan's a possible replacement... Mr Tan came by, took us for band practice.. He's more throughout, more focussed on tone production..
Today. woke up early... went to Changni Airbase (CAB) anniversery thing... held at pasir ris park... cycled for an hour after that.. then to Funan.. bought a DVD burner.. now all my pics can be stored on one disc...

::Finally fixed the HTML codings, now back to normal... Pesky little creatures, one small dot also cannot... haiz... well had a band exchange with St. Margaret's today.. paid thomas a little visit... noon like that, every concieveable method to persuade him to come failed.. wouldn't budge from his chair, playing Diablo 2... Told him that this time would be different, he wouldn't listen.. pity him... missed out all the fun... this exchange definately better than the one we had 2 years with Mayflower and Whitley... At least this one we talked... Arrived at SMSS at 2, somesort of exam going on, so had to keep the band's noise level down... their band room at the 4th floor, must be hard on the logistics... have to move the percussion instruments 4 stories down if they have any performance... well, took turns to warm up.. yea, their way of warming up is way different from ours.. Don't think our band is at its peak... syf coming next year, need to push them harder... then played piece for each other.. they played merry widow.. their syf choice piece.. we haven't even decided on our choice piece... !!! after all that, had a break, combined the 2 bands together... played Singapore Rapsody, the syf set piece.. then both conductors took turns directing the band.. took a section pic with the St Margaret clarinet section... then the combine band pic... learnt that it is not easy to squeeze 100 people into a photo, especially if their from two different schools.. a guy and a gal's school...
