::Last day of February.. "O" Level results out today.. school wanted us to see the handing out of results.. "Imagine yourself as one of them, see how they react.. Which reaction do you want?" so went to the hall after recess.. saw some of the past year sec 4s.. then Mr Wu, our VP, announced the general results.. how many % passes, compared to national average.. pass rate suprisingly good.. A Maths 100% pass, national average 70+.. Our principal was quite pleased, so the rest of the day off for the 4E/5N people.. left the hall, band practice for sec 1s started already.. assigned instruments today.. with the help of Mr Sukit.. as usual, the number who wan't to join percussion was staggering.. but only could take 3 or 4 percussionist.. clarinets 6.. tomorrow Woodwind and Brass with Mr Leng..::

::Coming to the end of February.. Clement, Benjamin and Jun Min came over on Sat.. Wanted to buy reeds.. Sorta bonding time.. maybe gonna organize a clarinet outing next sat.. watch the movies or something.. Went to eat first at mac.. then met up with Joseph.. walked to Parklane Mall, talk about stuff along the way.. went to M.A.S.T music, saw some other band people there.. dunno from what school.. looked around, saw this crystal mouthpiece.. Got a Clarinet and an Alto Sax version.. $90+ and $100+ respectively.. cool, but kinda odd if you use it.. everyone's mouthpiece opaque, then yours transparent.. bought me Eb reeds.. then went off.. they wanted to buy Zonda reeds.. then only The Band World sells.. so went to Singapore Shopping Centre.. Found out that it was closed.. then Clement suggested to go the the IMM store.. still got some time left, so why not.. took the long MRT trip from Dhoby Ghuat to Jurong East.. reached IMM about 6.15.. then found out that the shop closes at 6... kinda frustrated us.. went there for nothing.. so next sat plan to meet early, go to buy, then come to me house practice with their new reeds..Today went to Suntec after me tuition.. about 1pm.. just walked around Carrefour.. they had this Music Fair, selling Digital Pianos.. Casio, saw me piano there.. tried out other models, the more expensive ones anyway.. about the same, more bass sound from the low notes.. maybe I'll add a subwoofer.. haha.. anyway, just woke up.. came home about 5+ then slept to 11.. still haven't do homework.. Oh yea, today's Cassandra's birthday, and in a few minutes time, Bernadette's.. Met Cassandra through MSN.. Alto Sax player from SACS.. met her 2 times with Wei Nan.. long time ago, 2003 I think.. knew Bernadette later.. during the NTU attachment I had in June last year.. 10 days stay over.. fun.. well, Happy Birthday to the 2 of ya!::

::Last day of the Lunar New Year... Sports heats also today... Wrote me name on the board for the 100m.. then didn't appear on the list... then got 9 people.. just nice me extra... so waited for the rest of me Majella classmates at the finishing line... so basically went there for nothing.. been taking part in the 100s for the past 3 years.. sec 2 SARS, then no sports day...
then sectionals after that... went detailed... spent about 15mins on the first 2 notes alone.. start together, nice sound, no squeaks... their rhythm can already... I just need them to produce a nice clean sound.. I don't believe its the instrument's fault.. showed them it can be done.. well, the brass was in the band room with Mr Sukit.. finally can hear me section... by nature, clarinets are soft instrument, and many overblow because of that.. thats why the clarinet section should be big.. like the violins of the orchestra.. getting late already... tomorrow still have school...::

::2 am already... came back from watching Constantine at about 12.30am... Watched the 9.30 show at Great World City... was at hall 6, the biggest at the cineplex there I think.. first time going to hall 6... the rest of the time went up the stairs to the rest of the halls.. sure is big, rows A to V, 20 rows? Our seats were at row C.. the rest of the seats already taken.. full house I think.. the seating wasn't that bad.. there was actually quite a big space between the screen and row A.. didn't have to strain me neck or anything... movie was nice.. been a fan of Keanu ever since the Matrix trilogy.. he really differs from Neo in this movie.. drinks and smokes, didn't actually count the number of times he smokes in this movie... quite a number.. wonder why they didn't rate it NC16 or higher.. deals with regilous matter such as angels and demons... maybe I'll watch it again with friends...::

::14th Feb 2005... Another typical, ordinary school day here at Montfort... This is one of those days I really wish I was in a mixed school.. thats one disadvantage of being in a boys school... Not that I'm being depressed or anything... just that I feel something is missing... most teens are driven by hormones around this age.. even leading them to do some "things"?? Nature's way of saying, go out there and reproduce!! Think about it.. what you're actually doing when you say some gal is "chio" or some guy is "hot" is, he/she has the best physical characteristic to survive, so I want my children to have those genes, where it increases their chance of survival.. This may sound crude, but thats how nature works.. Then there's this thing invented by humans called "love"..::

::1st day of the year of the rooster... went to me relatives house for visitation... left the house at about 12.. first stop was at Simei.. don't really know whats their connection with me.. my grandmother's sister or something.. complicated... well, only see them once a year... didn't really asked.. then went to Yio Chu Kang there... quite near me house.. all the way straight from the flyer over at bowen there.. a large area where got lotsa terrace houses.. no HDB in sight... well, a bunch of me relatives live on the same street.. basically, their neighbours.. bought their house at the same time I think.. 5 of em actually.. they live in a row, very convenient for visitations on Chinese New Year... one sweep clear 5? Ding Dong, come into the house, Happy New Year!! Gong Xi Fa Cai etc... talk talk, eat goodies, get hong bao, talk some more, make a move.. walk a few metres, repeat... met up with me maternal cousins.. they were a house ahead.. got sequences one you know? down the street... left at about 4.30 I think.. went to Bukit Timah there... met some of me relative's there.. also visiting.. connection wise, I'm clueless.. and I thought the connections in Friendster were complicated enough... Ate dinner at Ah Gong's place..
2nd Day... Lotsa people came to me house today.. only get to see me house so pack once a year.. let them play me Xbox.. Metal Arms, Top Spins, didn't get any new games so far... me, me brother and me father went to buy ice prior to that.. 1+... help to carry... also bought a few cartons of drinks... ordered buffet.. about 6+, was packed.. wasn't enough chairs to go around.. even me piano bench got used.. hope no one spilled anything on it... don't want the keys to get all sticky and stuff... watched Kung Fu Hustle me cousin brought.. watched before.. Had to bring the DVD player from me parents room... Xbox only plays code 3 DVDs.. Suddenly, me living room doesn't seem so big with all these people crowding round to watch... most of the people went by 7... left me cousins... continued to play Xbox after the movie ended.. till 8, they too left.. 4-room flats ain't suppose to handle so many people.. House was kinda messy after that.. some of me aunts helped to clean up... they also made some home-made Popiah.. brought the skins, peanuts, eggs, sause etc.. "assembled" it here.. nice.. left the ingredients here for us...
Tomorrow gotta wake up early... going to Malaysia.. parents wrote a letter to me teacher already.. anyway, its just 2 hours of lessons.. Physics and Social Studies.. Friday's the uber short day.. but about everybody have CCA on Fridays.. Bringing me camera along with me, so expect lotsa pics..

::Chinese New Year celebrations at school today... need to come to school 15 mins eariler.. 8.15.. Start earlier, end earlier.. went to the hall, me class sat at the gallery area there... some of the other sec 4 class were there... Had a MP for our guest... About the same as last year, Mr Simen goes with the MP, on the stage, open this book... Start the celebrations... This year's a little different..
The MP for Paris Ris (forgot his name...) launch the Tsunami Book.. a project by our school.. we had to write reflections on the diaster during the first few days of school... so there's now 5000 copies of my work... woohoo.. Poems, Prayers, Pictures were in there too.. Also a few entries in Mother Tongue... For those who got the book, read page 38.. For those who don't, ask me, I'll try to get a copy for ya.. $6 a copy, hoping to raise $30,000.. I know some of you are thinking, "Now what date, so late then give donations..." but the truth is, the diaster is still going on... rebuilding, reconstructing and repairing lives...
The celebrations went on a usual, the same new year songs... Uploaded some of the pics I took... Mr Lam, one of our chinese teachers sang.. wonder why he's still a teacher.. can be a singer, earn more money that way.. haha.. At the end of it all, the confetti shower.. those tube things, where you twist the end... basically its a giant party popper... we people up in the gallery didn't get it.. looks fun...

::had a band exchange at Chong Boon today... Had to reach school by 7.30 in the morning... didn't have to bring percussion instruments, so moving out was faster... by 8.15 we're off... the bus ride there wasn't long, quite fast actually... Chong Boon at Ang Mo Kio, haven't been to their school before... quite new, seems that all schools I've been to is either recently founded, or looks new... Chong Boon looks new... maybe they've renovated? was moved to their hall.. wasn't air-conditioned like ours.. only few schools in Singapore have air-con halls... then the other 2 bands arrive.. Whitley and Xinmin... sectionals after that..
Mr Leng asked some of his friends from philharmonic to come.. show us how to play our instrument... lotsa people there.. the clarinets and flutes already fill up their band room.. 60 people there... plus most of the clarinettist and fluatist there are gals.. clarinet and flute considered a gal's instrument in mixed school ma... for us no choice one... boys school.. so got the trio of clarinets with the bass and flute to play our parts for us...assembled back at the hall, the tutors formed a small band and played our pieces.. then took turns to play... basically thats it..
didn't get to know anyone there.. too many people i think.. 3 would be just nice.. not much interaction time anyway.. the most we could do was talk when moving to their band room and on the way back to the hall...

::Was sick on Mon... During school... Rushed to school in the morning, had to print something for clement... then during lessons started sneezing.. then subsised during recess.. body feeling hot.. borrowed tissue paper from everyone... thanks guys.. next time ought to have a pack ready... talk about a leaky faucet... was like drip, drip, drip... at least not sneezing now... at least got a free period... Mr Azman didn't come again... and Monday is the Long day... first time actually I slept in class... during Lit.. felt really sick..till 4.30pm... temperature getting high by then... at least school has ended.. took a bus home, even though its only 2 buses stops away.. didn't have the strength to walk.. went home, slept.. woke up ate dinner, bathed... slept again..
woke up at 8.. was feeling much better than yesterday.. slept for more than 12 hours I think... took some panadol before sleeping.. sleeps cures all.. almost late for school... took another panadol and rush to school.. had band today, so had to go... "Mr Leng day"
Wed. Scrabble friendly match with Marsling today... get to skip 3 lessons.. woo.. their school compound has, lets say, new.. founded in 2000... whoever designed their school building definately did a good job... our school, no free spaces, blocked up.. maybe its me going to this school for 10 years? Seeking for new spaces? played 2 rounds.. always been my tradition to put at least one bingo each game... first round put "dealings"... haven't played for a long time, opened the board and let my opponent score... so at the end, won by only 10 points.. thats like a hair line... second game has much better... put "Jerkers" and "Pincers" won by 131... thats bout my average... the most I won by was 200+... the spread (the difference in the scores) was bigger than my opponents score... muahaha..
Today. took the chinese test that we were supposed to take yesterday.. asked some of my classmate for the words.. hints maybe.. haha.. hope I can still pass... then had a dental appointment at the junior side... had a polish... 4 years since that day.. blog about that another day... had sectionals after that...
