just came back from chinese listening comprehension.. was held in Sc 7, Sgt Geok's class.. Jun Feng was damn lucky lor.. got to sit right infront of the radio.. was playing classical music before the test start.. played Gabriel's Oboe from Morricone Melody.. last time I heard that was when Gabriel actually played that one his oboe.. memories.. the lc was broadcasted over 92.4FM, so whole of Singapore simultaneously took the test? 1st passage was about smoking, 2nd was about NY winter and school, 3rd was something about parents and children and 4th was about chat hotline.. all the question very similar.. tricky.. hope I don't make too many mistakes

jun feng doing some last min preparation for listening compre..
Warning! the last pic may be alittle graphic.. if you can't stand the sight of blood or a real heart (not those lovely dovely 2 Cs facing each other) just skip the next section.. if not read on.. don't say I didn't warn you..had our first dissection in bio pract yesterday.. examined a sheep's heart.. can't use pig's heart cause Mr Azman malay? must be halal.. haha.. the back row people came up first.. cause got only 3 hearts and whole class can't come up at the same time? was sitting at the first row with Lian Jie and Zhi Hong, so did the other 2 experiments first.. looked at a blood smear through the microscope.. quite hard to focus on it.. at the lowest magnification was just some fuzzy dots.. at highest mag was clearer.. but still quite small.. little ovals with a darker centre.. the biconcave structure of a red blood cell.. then did the plant cell ones.. nicer.. could see clearly the individual cells.. took some pics with my K750i the nicest one's below..

part of a root.. very clear right? nice.. once again, auto-focus rocks! hmm, now can refer to the pics and do the worksheet.. draw and label the parts.. came to our turn to examine the heart..
first thing I noticed was the smell.. smelt like bloody sweaty vomit.. Mr Azman showed us the left and right atriums and ventricals, the chambers that pump blood.. and the vessels that lead out/in.. the vena cava, aorta etc.. most of us wasn't really listening to him.. were busy finding out for ourselves the various parts.. he also asjked us to feel the vessels, so we were sticking our fingers into the holes.. 2 was thicker, the aorta and pulmonary artery, and the other 2 was thinner. the vena cava and pulmonary vein.. (those not taking bio have no idea what I'm talking about right??)
pic below...
got heart?::
