probably thousands of other blogs around the world (not just Singapore) are gonna report on their first day of school.. well, this is mine..
my father offered to drive me to school since he's not in a rush to work... didn't know traffic was so packed on the roads.. guess lotsa other parents are also driving their child to their first day too.. reached CJC at around 7.30.. first thing I noticed is the amount of white pants and pinafores there..
met up with the rest of the Montfort people there.. namely Dalton, Bryant, Xavier and JJ.. so that makes our school 0.685871% of the total JC1 population there? nice..
spilted up into IG groups at the hall.. then had morning assembly..
they had sorta impromtu skit.. called up "one of us", scolded him for his dressing etc.. looked kinda serious when he suddenly says "anyway, welcome to CJC" and gives him a hug.. haha.. then they called up each of the groups facillitators and introduced them to us.. but really, with 32 groups, there's no need for everyone of us to know every group's facilitators, just those that concern us..
had some icebreaker activities.. asking everyone to give a massage to the person infront of you.. kinda reminds me of Empower-U but on a much much larger scale.. gave a massage to Daniel and Jenny gave one to me.. well, the first 2 new names of the day..
showed us their mass dance next... I know they want to spread their energy onto us, but I feel its way too early in the morning for this.. the groups scattered around the campus for more icebreaker games next..
then a huge coincidence happened.. turns out that Sean (my "team-mate" for the NTU attatchment) was also in my group.. so at least 1 familar face in the crowd.. gotta know more new names and faces..
endured a long speech on subject combination next.. most of the info I already known.. then went to use the coms to register our subject combinations.. chose Chem/Phys/Geo as first, Econs as second.. think this comb would be most useful in my future line of work..
went to the hall after lunch.. had to learn the mass dance.. everyone was paired up boy-with-girl.. got paired up with Linda.. the facilitator (can't remember his name) asked who has never hold hands with a gal before.. and JJ put up his hand!! really, this is one of the many incidents I wouldn't want to share the same name with him..
the dance was a refreshing experience for me, and I'm sure the many boys and girls from single sex schools would also agree.. went for more games after that and got back to the hall to be dismissed.. today was fun.. can't wait till tomorrow..
