went for Asian Aerospace over the past 2 days... my dad's in the RSAF, so started to have an interest in planes when I was very young... remembered going to his workplace for some open house/airshow, then sat in the cockpit of the plane.. damn cool.. anyway, he just got promoted to 2WO, 2nd Warrant Officer for those that don't know.. so he had to go overseas to work from Friday and couldn't go with us for the public days, so my grandma going with us instead.. anyway, went on Saturday with my family and Sunday with my friends..
Day 1
woke up at 8+... felt kinda larthargic and sleepy intially, but immediately woke up when I remembered what today was.. felt like a small boy again.. know those feeling when your parents brought you to the zoo for the first time or something? the excitement of not knowing what to expect.. my bro was still not eager to wake up, so only got out of the house at around 9.15.. took 88 to Pasir Ris, first thing you'll notice at the interchange is the amount of AA 2006 buses there.. almost like half of the buses there are for AA.. then got something to eat and boarded the shuttle bus..
quite alot of sercurity to go through before actually reaching the exhibition place.. policemen going up the bus to check, gunmen with carbines and shotguns... they really mean business mann... alighted about 10mins before the aerial display starts.. there was a long queue to get in, so we decided to watch the display first..
the Pilatus doing some loops...
F-15 with its landing gear down..
High bank turns...
Dives..
the pilot..ok.. thats actually a pic of the model plane.. hahaa.. though my cam has 12x zoom, the planes still are quite small, must crop.. for you to take a pic of the pilot piloting the plane in flight, think must have telescope attached to your cam, even then, still must have insanely good timing lor... hah.. the only plane that fills up the whole frame, yes you've guessed it, the A380...
the A380 in SIA colours doing some banks..
close-upquite scary seeing close to 300 tonnes flying through the air like that.. its huge but still quite agile.. don't think it can do such stunts fully-loaded with passengers though... imagine the volume of vomit 555 passengers can create..
not wanting to be outdone, the original also did some stunts for us to see...then queued up to go inside... more sercurity checks again.. feels like going through an airport.. we are on airport grounds anyway.. quite crowded inside.. went in the Halls to view some of the exhibits.. we went to one of the food outlets there to eat.. got an onion bun and root beer.. then went to walk around while they were eating...
went to the static display area outside..

was this lucky kid whom was given the chance to go into the cockpit.. his expression kinda reminded me of myself when I was young...
then queued up for the large aircraft display.. was pretty much a walkable distance, but had to take a shuttle there.. my mom, bro and grandma went home first.. so it was just me at the WCA.. of course the aircraft with the largest crowd surrounding it was the largest airliner... the A380.. the B-1B Lancer was there too..
the F-15Ethe sun was really beating down hard, combined with the strong winds... another long queue to get back, so more baking in the sun... went to see the rest of the static display aircraft.. the private jets and trainer planes.. so that ends day 1 at AA 2006...
Day 2
went early to Pasir Ris to get the tickets first.. seems like theres lesser people there though there's still a big crowd at the interchange... got something to eat from Mac while waiting for the rest to come.. met Lian Jie and Dave at the interchange while Tim, Edi and Jason took taxi by themselves... the usual sercurity clearance etc..
went to watch the aerial display first as with yesterday... threatened to rain with dark clouds hanging over us, but luckily didn't..
look up in the sky! its a bird! its a plane! oh yea its a plane...the cloudy skies ruined what would be a nice shot.. then went into the exhibition area itself.. queued up for the Large Display Aircrafts first.. Tim's been wanting to see the A380 in all its large-ness upclose... the queue was even longer than yesterday.. but at least with people to talk to, it seemed faster.. Jason was looking through Dave's mp3 collection.. "Gregorian Chant, Gregorian Chant, Gregorian Chant..." hahaa.. but really.. most of it are those Christian songs...
as usual, there was a crowd at the A380...
argh!! thats the 3rd person to come spoil the picture!!
another candid shot with great timing.. looks like some caricarture right?
ok, on to more serious shots..

then went to get something to snack on.. the hotdogs with cheese inside are nice.. being the last day, the halls were quite empty.. most of the exhibits were close... went to Airbus' booth to take a look..

I'm sure Tim will buy this 1:20 scale model if it was up for sale.. if 1:20 is so big already, then 1:10 model can be a small aircraft already...
then went outside to the static display area..
Lian Jie and the F-16 behind..took the shuttle bus back to Pasir Ris... Dave had to go so he went off.. so the 5 of us took the train to Dhouby Ghuat since we'll all be taking the NEL home... went to Kopitiam to eat and chatted for some time there...
still have school the next day...

Thursdayso much for the temporary class room.. less than 24hrs in it then had to switch back.. might as well don't switch in the first place right?
anyway, had another Birthday celebration on thurs.. Kendrick's.. though it was actually on 21st, the cross country day... Eric and Alfred switch their pants for a shortwhile too.. guess Eric wants to get used to wearing long pants huh.. funny seeing him in long pants.. anyway, they changed back during the break, in time for the celebration..
the presentKendrick's some high ranking officer in NCC, so there's his nickname for you.. lime-green water bottle.. not bad...
the cake, complete with realistic looking "flame"
come on, eat it!
yea!Fridayhad our "games" for PE today.. while other classes were playing frisbee, softball, captain's ball and such.. we played a very "interesting" sprinting game.. he spent most of the lesson teaching us the theory part of how to have a good start when sprinting... the 4-point start, where your feet should be, how you place your hands etc.. had a little race amongst the class as he let us try it out..
then proceeded to the track there, where we had to pair up.. Jocelyn wasn't here today, so the girls are now a odd number.. so Hannah ended up with me.. the first activity had to restrain the other person by holding their shoulders when they sprint.. er, so didn't really dare to give full power... wasn't that bad... 2nd had to stand behind and hold by the hips.. er, didn't really dared to hold tight on her... 3rd one definately can't be done with a guy-girl pair.. so I went over and joined Kendrick and Eric while Hannah joined the rest of the girls.. had to give the other person a push from the back... so imagine the other person in the sprinting position, ready to start... so where would your hands be if you want to push him forward? yes.. thats why...
then went home to bathe after the GP test in the afternoon.. met up with Dave at Potong Pasir to get the ticket money for Asian Aerospace on Sun.. went to CP to get the adaptor tube/lens hood and polarizing filter for my S2.. these would definately come in handy for AA..

my cam looks damn pro now right? but still can't compare to those professional dSLRs.. the colours don't really match though.. would look nicer on the newly released black S3IS...
anyway, will update with pics from AA this Sunday, so watch for it..

had our cross-country today... 2nd cross country for me.. had a cross-country once in sec 1 I think, or was it sec 2.. so this cross country really brings back some memories..
anyway, had to do a personal newspaper of some sort for SDP... my personal history, achievements, things I like about my life etc.. I just wrote one word under that last column... Friends..
then also read a handout on why some people put people down.. some of these reasons I think is quite true... I've seen it all too clearly myself.. (sick... one beetle stupidly flew into the fan just now and what's left of it landed on my keyboard... argh..) anyway, just wanna bring up the case of Joel... I really don't care whether you (my sec sch friends) hate me after saying this, but no one should be put down like that.. I know some of you may argue back saying he deserves it and all that.. but listen to yourself speak and ask yourself why are you doing this.. maybe its because of inner insercurities and covering up by criticising others.. you know yourself best.. since we all have graduated, I think its due time to move on..
anyway, had to shift classroom after our break.. a guy sprained his ankle or something, so can't go up stairs.. since our classroom is so convinient, we had to switch classrooms for the time being..
our temporary "upsized" classroomthough its much further from LTs and canteen, its definately much bigger in size.. now I can walk to my seat in the middle without asking people to move their chairs..
had a Maths CA next.. didn't even look through the notes or anything prior to that.. the questions were challenging, quite tricky... had a great sense of satisfaction when I completed it.. just hope is correct..
we were released at 1, so went with my classmates to Thomson Plaza to eat.. been quite awhile since I went there.. Music Plaza's now gone, first time I went there was when I was quite young... still remembered the arcade there, using the tokens to play games.. ate at BK, changed into shorts and headed for macrichie reservoir.. was coming down from the overhead bridge when I saw lotsa furry things on the floor.. thought it was some puffy seeds from some plant at first, but on closer inspection found out it was some hairy worms.. they look cute and yet creepy at the same time.. they drift down from the trees above when the wind blows.. weird, didn't see anything like that before..
the cross country was very similar to the one I had before.. except with girls now of course..

despite what the huge banner above says, this is actually the start off for the girls competitive...
only Kendrick, Carmen and Serene running competitive, so the rest of the class was leisure.. brought my K750i along, so got some music to listen along the way... really leisurely, we all chatted along the way.. walked with Charmaine for most of the way, around the reservoir, through the forest trail and out along the highway... met Jason when we got out of the forest trail.. apparently, he walked the longer route.. amazing he can catch up with us...
Jason giving his trademark "Orrh" look..the lens flare kinda cool though unintentional, cause the bright sun directly behind what.. a nicer pic would be him panting and sweating with the lens flare to show how bright and sunny it is.. haha..
finished at where we started (that explains the finishing banner at the start).. was a long queue for the Milo, so didn't take one.. sat down with the rest of my class at the back of the tent area where everyone was gathering.. there was some skit put up (probably to stall for time while they get the results.. haha..), but couldn't make out like 40% of what they were saying through that thick Indian accent, so didn't really pay much attention to it after the first few seconds.. then after that the prize giving as usual.. the top 20 for both boys and girls and JC1s and 2s.. so 80 names to call? not really different in sec sch with sec 1-4... then if they give out top 20 in mixed schools, they must give out 160 trophies?? hahaa...
there was a huge crowd gathering at the bus stop after we were dismissed, so stay around for awhile for the crowd to lessen..
at least I kept a constant speed throughout... walking speed that is.. haha..

went to collect the tickets from raidah on friday... Linda and Jason were also going to Dhoby Ghaut, so went with them.. Jason really talks too much for his own good man.. funny thing with Linda... we were in the same OG group, then came to same class, then got the same points for Os, and almost same choices for JC.. if I end up same class with her again, must really be fate already...
was damn tired went I got home, so slept till the next morning.. the only time I'll wake up by myself so early on a sat morning... took 147 with Yvonne since she lives so near to my house, and she's also going for the funorama.. forgot to take the tickets with me, so walked back to my house to grab them... chatted for some time on the bus.. was showing her some pics from my phone, mostly from school last year.. then she asked why no girls? only then did she find out Montfort is a BOYS SCHOOL?? I know that there are some not so guy guys, but it is still 100% boys by gender... only time we had girls in the school was like 30 years ago when CJC was being built and we hosted the pre-U classes... ahh! can't believe it...
so followed the army of people walking there once we reached Buona Vista.. met Dave walking back, he had some appointment in the afternoon I think... first thing we bought there were drinks... she met her other friends there, so I left... the school building was nice, glass facade foyer with aircon and lift?? kinda looks like some hotel lobby, except with tons of people...
bought some fries to eat... dunno whether they selling me salt or fries lor.. quite high budget the funfair.. met Raidah and her friends.. one of them asked me about Tim, Denise I think... now I know why.. hehe..
was alone yet again... thought of walking around to see if got anyone I know.. met Mike while I was getting my 2nd drink.. then got myself one of the most unhealthy snacks you can think of... toasted marshmallows with chocolate syrup and chocolate rice.. so damn sweet that I needed some water to get rid of the taste..
so just sat down at the grandstand there watching them fire off the water rockets... quite cool... wanted to meet Janice but couldn't find her, so sat there for an hour or so before it rained.. and when it rains, it pours.. so just stayed there while everyone scramble about..
couples cuddling, friends talking, while I just sat there cold, wet and alone..
that feeling came back to me again.. everyone was having so much fun except me.. wasn't going to repeat that same stupid mistake again, so just left once the clouds cleared.. spent $10 for nothing..

14th Feb and you know what day it is... Valentine's Day..
been pretty much another ordinary day for me for the past 16 years, but not this year.. first thing I noticed went I stepped into class was the amount of stuff on the tables..
Eric's "Stash"chocolates, sweets, customised cup, a funky bendy straw, a toothbrush? hahaa, that was Serene's idea.. says its the most practical valentine's gift since you need to brush your teeth more after eating so many chocolates and sweets..
can't compare to Eric though.. only recieved some notes, a bar of snickers everyone got.. and a cookie and muffin made by Janice.. would love to keep it longer, but don't wanna have a mouldy cookie do I?
the class also bought something for our Home Tutor, Mrs Chin..

the hair kinda looks like her though.. even she admits it.. hahaa..
some were singing as they walked past our class... guess everybody's in a happy mood.. :D they were also having song dedications in the canteen..
wanted to give Janice the 1/100th of the thousand cranes I used to have.. but couldn't find her afterschool.. it already took an hour to make that 10, so imagine the amount of effort 1000 takes... don't need to guess I'll tell you, 3 months.. my father just can't see beyond the physical value of that 1000 and just threw it away one day when he was clearing stuff.. almost felt like crying then..
so not having school may not be a good thing for those JCs who have a 3 day break for JAE...

well
10th February 2006 is definately on of the greatest days of my life... there's no better way to end and start another chapter of my life..
brought my uniform and camera to cjc today.. although many people would have pon today, but we came.. just wanna wish my new found friends good luck for our results later on I guess.. had our proper period of Friday PE after being shortchanged by CNY.. had our sprinting "game" as our PE teacher would put it.. practiced arm movement, leg movement etc.. all the theory etc.. could see he's really trying to teach us the proper way of sprinting.. although my sprinting is way better than my long-distance running, could feel I can sprint slightly faster now..
had our break next.. Rommel, Samuel, Ian and Marcus were playing basketball at the courts, so since I already have my S2 with me, so practiced some shots of my own...
flying without wings!then celebrated Hannah's birthday during the remainding of the break... so double the occasion for her huh..
watched more clips for Physics Lecture.. more formulas to learn etc.. love Mr Yee man... give us 1 hour free and easy.. the girls took some pics with him.. Jocelyn was like jumping around "I wanna take pics with Mr Yee!" started to rain, that can't be good.. wished each other good luck and we departed for our various secondary schools.. first time seeing
met with Bryant and Dalton at the foyer, but didn't know where they went after that.. JJ also walked past, he was going home first.. Andrea and her other SJC friends were also waiting at the foyer.. so chatted awhile.. met the last of my schoolmates there, Xavier at the bus stop..
went to Toa Payoh to take 88 back.. had a quick bite and boarded 88..
went back home to collect the CD I forgot to include for Addison.. was in a hurry, so didn't really have time to appreciate the route I used to take to school for possibably the last time.. reached school slightly before 2..
soon, it was the moment of truth.. the top students weren't much of a suprise.. maybe except for the fact that Joel got in and JJ didn't.. was trying very hard to hold back my tears..
top student Yu Bin taking his results..when I wasn't called up, I already knew that I didn't meet my expectation already.. now it was a matter of how far off.. was index number 2, so my turn came quick.. so here they are:
English B3
Combined Humanities B4
Literature in English B3
Mathematics A1
Additional Mathematics A1
Physics A1
Chemisty A2
Biology A2
Chinese C5
as you can see, I'm definately a science student..
first thing to hit me was, B3 for English?!? the worst I expected was maybe an A2.. damn.. then rest of the subjects were kinda expected.. Straight As for Maths and Sciences.. not really happy with that A2 in Chem though.. A2 in Bio as expected.. moved up a grade for Chinese but that didn't really matter.. so that makes my L1R5 11, short of the 10 or 9 I expected.. its the exact same points as my mid-year, so really not satisfied with that.. felt I could do better..
the top studentshiaz.. if I had done slightly better, I would be the one in the pic not the one taking it..
the usual going around comparing results comotion happened after that.. some cries of joy and some despair...
one such person who was short-changed by his results was Heng Tee.. when he was told he got all A for his maths and science he was so happy.. then the E word came.. "except..." the first 2 most important subjects.. damn sad lor.. even for mid-year chinese he got Distinction for his Oral and Listening but still got C6.. at least he improved 3 grades for that..

think the above pic effectively captures the essense of that moment.. he's the middle one by the way..
then went to Mac to eat... think this the first time this year I've been to that outlet.. been my hangout place ever since it opened.. the staff there's friendly, been seeing the same old people, mostly people from my school would go there after school, so we're sorta loyal customers.. the auntie at the counter asked about my results, so I told her.. man.. I miss this macdonald's, very much linked to my years at Montfort... all the meetings, all the friends..
ordered the Grilled Chicken Foldover... being with myself really helps to straighten out my thoughts.. so just ate by the glasswall, watching the people go by... Kenneth and Bernard came by.. Kenneth chatted with me for awhile then joined his friends at the other corner.. Bernard came sometime later with others.. seem happier with his results then I do, even though he failed his humans..
went back home to bath and get ready for the BBQ in the evening.. met Dave at the bus stop outside school... and he didn't know 88 passes by our school?!? thats the side effects of travelling by car and taxi too much.. Jia Qing and Jason Chia got on some stops later.. didn't know Jia Qing shifted house to Seng Kang there.. even though he used to live only a few block apart from me, he wasn't really close to me..
reached Pasir Ris park on time, but the others weren't there yet.. the park was too quiet though, seeing how crowded it can get on weekends.. went to take some pics since they are not here yet..
colours of the skythe BBQ only started like 8pm? and somebody still say be there by 6.30 and himself came late.. didn't really eat much during the BBQ.. 1 sasuage, 2 satay and 2 chicken wings.. barely enough for the entire group..
Jun Feng brought along his board so did some pics for him...
observe the speed limit man...and of course, what BBQ would be complete without sparklers?

got nearly hit by some flaming projectiles in the midst of their celebrations..
then had a toast or "Yam Seng" as we would call it..

everyone had to say some words before the toast.. Lam was on his usual high.. one thing I can't do very well, is to express myself on the spot... sure I've lotsa things to say but the words just can't leave my mouth... so the next little section is what I would have said..
just wanna say thanks to all my friends for letting me to know you... for me, I've not made any best friends or a particular group of good friends.. that is because ALL of you are my BEST friends.. I'll always remember you guys.. even when my memory fails some 70+ years down the road, I'll still have the pics to remind me of the times we had together..
so...
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmm Seng!guess the wine was good, though didn't drink any.. just feel so left out sometimes, thats when tears started rolling down.. nvm, there's still a certain day in April...
then took some group pics..

I look weird squatting down..
everybody started to take their leave after much goodbyes and farewells... hugs, tears and all.. shared a cab back with Elwin..

sh*t.. tearing already.. O level results gonna be released on Friday.. the last time we would be in school colours... just can't believe 10 years in white and blue coming to an end.. seen the school evolve as time goes by.. physically, the upgrading of the Junior School, some landscaping in Sec school.. man.. still can recall the first time I stepped foot into the school.. the 2 story teacher's room block, now 4, the eco-garden, venturing into the secondary school during recess.. the afternoon shift, now single.. the teachers.. Mdm Yeo in 1E, Miss Chia in 2GG, Miss Lim in 3G and 4GG, Sir and Mdm Tay in 5G and 6GG... met Mdm Yeo during one of the teacher's day, and she still remembers me.. the other to]wo left the school already..
went back to see how the band was doing after school... first time stepping back into the school since 2006 started.. Sgt Geok's still the usual him.. taught one of the sec 1 clarinettist, Ryan, for awhile.. hopefully can get more than 1.. kinda reminded me of when I was sec 1.. first time seeing them wear the new school uniform although I already know they changed the uniform since my bro's in sec1.. but didn't have a chance to see it worn.. kinda looks like the primary school's uniform, with the coloured school crest.. abit too colourful if you asked me..
at least physics letctures are getting more fun.. showed us a video clip from the movie "Cruise Control".. where the ship crashes into the town.. calculated its deceleration from the speedometer shots from the movie.. turns out it was 0.01ms-2.. so they could be sipping drinks inside without ever noticing instead of flying though the window and stuff..
man.. friday's the day

pretty much wasted the whole of sunday away.. the afternoon was very much gone when I woke up.. came home just before 12 midnight the day before.. 24hr days sure wear me out.. a day of pool and pizza
as mentioned in my previous post, woke up at 12 something the night before.. watched Herbie, did some stuff for Addison, played on my piano (with headphones of course).. before you know it, its 6am.. bathed and headed for the 24hr Mac at Hougang Green.. everything looked so serene in the pre-dawn light.. the air so fresh and crisp, none of those noctious exhaust gases.. what a feeling!
not much people at Mac, guess they are still in bed.. ate my McMuffin while walking to the bus stop.. for me, fast food just means food that you can eat on the go.. finished my meal just before 156 came.. the bus ride was faster than I expected.. reached school at 7.50am..
maybe shouldn't have reached so early.. the rest of the section was late.. Melvin, Janis, Natasha and Rachael all came in at the same time... wonder why.. had some warm-ups, played though some songs and had sectionals after that.. the tutor said I had a nice sound, just that I don't show people that I have.. guess I didn't have such proper training before.. would definately pass on some of the techniques I learnt to my previous section..
wanted to pass Janis the CDs after band, but turns out, she left already.. guess Addison has to wait.. took 132 to town, changed and browsed through some books at Borders.. suppose to meet the rest of my classmates at 2.30, so had some time left.. reached City Hall at 2, though I would continue writing on my PDA, but hunger called.. ate some bread to relieve my hunger and waited.. saw Eric going up the escalator but dunno where he went after that.. ended up waiting for 1 hour for *someone* who went to cut her hair..
played pool at Marina Square.. Alfred and Jocelyn came a few hours later... can see that they are getting close to each other more.. went to Cathay Photo to get another Lenspen cause I misplaced mine.. they still don't have the adapter set for the S2 though.. funny, they had the first time I went.. too bad I didn't buy then..
went to Alfred's house to eat.. his house wasn't what we expected.. it was so... Traditional Chinese.. its even more chinese than my house..

also had a dog named Jack.. so cute right..? had pizza for dinner.. didn't eat anything since morning, so was damn hungry... had 4 slices of pizza, one of each kind, Mushroom, Hawaiian, Chicken and Pepperoni.. though I still prefer Pizza Hut's pizzas, not so dry..
played Taboo next.. quite fun seen how they explain the words on the cards without using the Taboo words.. got 6 correct.. some less than a 2 sec they got it.. like "Absolut... Volka" lowest was Daphne, spent so much time on "Sleeping Bag" that she only got 1 correct.. hahaa..
had truth or dare with "huh, what, who" as the decider.. its something like "zip, zap, zorb" if you know what I'm talking about.. the truths questions were quite typical.. like who you like etc.. but some of the answers quite faked if you asked me.. got an idea for one of the dares from Empower U.. saying "I Love You" to another person sincerely.. as a whole person.. didn't really do it properly though.. luckily I didn't get any forfeit or anything..
played till quite late.. only went home at 11.15.. a tiring day of pool and pizzas....

Was suppose to pass the pics Addison wanted to Janis, so spent the night browsing through the pics.. Really brought back some memories.. To think next week would be our last time in white and dark blue.. April we'll be doning on new colours.. Dunno whether I'll be used to that..6am came and I prepared for the day ahead.. Brought some outside clothes to change as my class would be having some outing.. Thought of going home to change but would have to rush..*already reaching school, so I'll continue this afterwards

woke up not long ago... was pretty tired after having the photos printed.. who knew 2 pictures would require so much effort..
brought my S2 to school.. there was this creative photo competition for every class and we had to sumbit by Friday.. had some idea of how the shot was going to be like.. but it didn't really turn out that way.. *side-track - some joker playing with the lift alarm bell right now.. in the wee hours of the night..*
anyway, here are the pics..

wasn't really a proper planned shoot.. had some trouble getting the people together though... went with them to Scotts to have dinner before heading home to do some processing.. got it printed at Compass Point's Photo Finish..
