Maths and Chem paper 3 today.. Maths was so much more better that mid-year.. was suppose to clear the memory of our GCs before we start, so I turned on my GC.. the low battery warning came up.. started to panick slightly, actually knew something like this would happen.. should have bought some extra batteries when I went downstairs to buy some stuff.. luckily Tricia was sitting beside me, and she just happened to have a pair of spare batts.. anything will do now, didn't show the low batt warning but appeared after awhile.. just managed to squeeze the last volts of electricity before it died.. couldn't even on my GC after the exam ended.. Thanks Tricia.. hopefully can score well.. but then only did the very first part of the last question, which was 14marks!? actually did know how to do, just that if I didn't spend so much time pondering over the first part could have done the rest.. all well..
tried to persuade Jun An to accompany me to eat.. but yet again he didn't want to and yet again I went by myself.. had to get some fresh batts for my GC anyway..
Chem paper 3 was not that hard.. but just not enough time.. rushed through the whole paper, and when they were collecting the scripts, had a look through at what I've written.. ok, alot of mistakes.. I'm sure given plently of time, the paper can be very well done..

anyway, the gals were playing some games to destress.. managed to drag the guys in.. literally.. played atoms and molecules (ya I know, we just had our chem paper..) where we had to get into pairs, then one person being the "atom" must go combine with another "molecule" before the catcher catches him/her, then another person from that pair must be the "atom" now.. quite funny to see Hek Ming and Bao Bao chasing each other.. Ping Chong quite smart lar, ran one big round to the other court, to the track etc..
was quite tired, so willingly became the catcher many times.. other than that, most of the time was just standing there while the guys took turns to sabo each other..
so 2 more days of exams left..

so thats 2 subjects down and 4 to go.. GP was ok.. wrote question no.2 for the essay. "Patience has no meaning in society today" Do you agree? talked about the fast paced society we lived in today, where instant gratification is the buzz word.. the internet, handphones etc.. can't say its my best essay written though.. far from it..
chinese was.. er not very good.. felt quite down after the paper.. took 136 to hougang mall.. coincidentally met Mr Neo on the way there.. chatted with him about the photomarathon, the virtual tour etc.. went to eat.. food therapy I guess..
went to school for awhile to take some notes to study.. went to woodlands to study.. was having my lunch when I saw some innova people walking past.. then I realised Lian Jie ought to be in school.. gave him a call to see whether he wants to study with me but he didn't want to come out.. says his school library much better.. just guess his lazy to walk.. walked there for nothing.. studied till 8plus then went to walk around at causeway point.. Lian Jie only came out of school at close to 9.. took 161 back with him..

went to Seoul Garden @ Taka on friday to have a belated birthday celebration for Lam.. Friday more people were free so more people turned up.. 24 to be exact.. went back to change after school ended.. had comfortably enough time before meeting at 5.. as usual, there's always the 30min waiting for others before we going off.. saw Joel coming back from school at the station.. he had that suprised "wah, nv invite me" look on his face..
waited outside SG for the rest to come.. Jian Nan helped us to pay first, which is quite a big sum of money.. $500 plus I think..

Shaun showing off his "latest" handphone..
our table inbetween Alfred's and Shaun's tables.. Alfred's table was the egg table and Shaun's was the meat table.. our was like the cleanest amongst them.. Alfred's table was quite crazy, after they had their fill, they went on to put all sorts of stuff into the steamboat in the middle.. think they wasted like 6 eggs just by doing that.. the soup was all gone and it became a solid mass after that.. then Shaun took heaploads of meat to bbq.. there was like 3 or 4 full plates of meat on their table..
brought out the cake for Lam after we finished eating..

make a wish..

and cut the cake..
after diving the already small cake into 24 pieces, you get bitesized pieces.. which reminds me.. Keck didn't come.. hahaa..
took a group photo before we left..

been waking up very early in the morning to do work recently.. studying for promos, I&R, tutorials etc.. just feel I can work better in the wee hours of the morning.. where everything is still and silent.. of course the positive side effect is I won't be late for school, plus I've done my tutorials.. just gives me the "feel good" feeling.. going to school feeling refreshed, relaxed and ready for a brand new day.. instead of rushing to school.. of course the risk is if I don't wake up that early, I'll end up rushing for school AND not having my tutorials done..
well, with ample time to reach school.. I do what I always do.. think.. you could say its like a reflection time for myself.. been thinking of her.. maybe it the way she smiles, just so, captivating.. or maybe its the mystery surrounding her, don't think I even know the tiniest bit about her.. maybe thats also why gals find Xavier attractive?
anyway, got a pleasant suprise yesterday.. took the MRT back to Hougang as I wanted to top up my ez-link card, bought something to eat and as I was walking back to the bus stop, met Bernard along the way.. probably the first time seeing him in light green and him seeing me in brown.. walked along with Bernard and chatted with him.. felt quite bad for making him detour and walk with me to my house so offered to buy him a drink but he declined.. he then reminded me today was Lam's birthday.. no wonder I felt like I'm missing something when the date 20th Sept pops up.. would have forgotten about it if not for Bernard..
they were planning to suprise him at his house.. reached there on time but there was nobody there yet..

tried some night scenary since I brought along the pod.. after handling the 10-22, my S80 doesn't seem so wide after all..
the rest started coming in only after 15mins..

hung around the void deck and chatted while waiting for Lam to come down.. Lian Jie was still in his uniform.. think he's grown shorter, or have I grown taller?? Lam being smart, felt something was wrong so he came down by the other staircase instead of the lift.. talked for quite awhile.. Joachim seemed quite agitated, think the loudness (mostly contributed by Alfred, hahaa..) bothered him..

took a quick group photo before we left..

talk about deja vu.. woke up at 3 for the same reason as the last post.. to do my econs assignment.. was suppose to get into pairs.. had someone in mind to pair up with but then was kinda busy.. guess Tiat Ming's the only person without a partner yet..
was renting the 10-22mm lens from wed to fri, but the previous person who had the lens didn't return on time, his flight was delayed or something.. Jason was kind enough to loan me the 12-24 first even though I didn't really use it.. really must thank him, even offered the 1st day free... tried mounting it on a film camera we have, just to see the view.. just wow, the widest full frame lens there is..
exchanged for the 10-22 on wed.. rushed back to school once I got the lens.. Zhi Kai and Kah Jun had already done the 360 panos for the library and some other areas.. took some still pics to supplement the panos..

the library aka the drum in ultrawide angle..
the perpective of this lens is very different from the ones we normally use.. very much wider, though not as wide as the fisheye, but its not distorted.. great for interiors where you have a limited amount of space to move in.. come to think of it, the ad for the new 28mm Lumix cameras abit exaggerated.. the 10mm end of the lens can be alittle too wide at times and I need to zoom in abit.. hahaa..
thursday the band members had to meet Mr Yeo after assembly.. was about the overseas trip we were going on.. going to Thailand from the 16-20th Dec, which just nice coincides with JC Band fest.. hiaz.. really want to participate in JC Band fest.. still remembered the first JC Band fest I watched in sec 2 I think.. seeing how much higher the standard of music is compared to sec schs and the fun they had.. had in mind participating in the JC Band fest when I got to JC.. now 3 years later, we can't go because we're overseas..
first time for me going for a band overseas trip.. there was one proposed 2 years back also to Thailand but that didn't happen.. would be quite interesting to see how both Montfort bands mix together if that trip took place.. the counterpart band suppose to be one of the best in Thailand from what I've heard..
also, if we participate in the band fest would gain more presence in the JC band scene.. frankly, I think its something we need.. more recognition.. NYJC isn't exactly the first name that comes into mind if you talk about JC Bands..
the most we can attend their performance, which is exactly the day after we arrive back in Singapore..

woke up not long ago.. planning to stay up and do finish the econs assignment thats so overdue and study at the same time..
anyway, had maths extra lesson today.. luckily it was from 1-2, didn't wake up early as planned.. only woke up like 12.30, at least I wasn't the latest.. Simon came some 5 mins after.. went through the exam questions from the other JCs.. still need help for APGP.. after the lesson/consultation ended, tried to persuade Jun An to accompany me to raffles place to collect a complimentary copy of "To Singapore, With Love" courtesy of SYPA.. but he said it was too far, so went alone.. been eyeing that book for some time since it was launched a year ago.. wanted to buy a copy but its not cheap.. many amazing and vibrant photographs inside.. the colours, the lighting, the faces, the emotions.. I'm sure decades down the road, this book would be very valuable.. a time capsule of Singapore in the early 21st century..
took 133 to lavender, then the MRT to raffles place.. only been to the CBD area less than 5 times, so it was all quite new for me.. got to republic plaza and before I could finish my sentence, the sercurity guard directed me to the lift lobby.. dunno why, but I got a feeling I've been here before.. got to the 36th floor, signed and collected my book.. it couldn't fit into my bag, even if it could I wouldn't put it there.. it was a hard cover coffee table kinda book so it was quite heavy..
where to now? wandered around the area to explore more of it.. skyscrapers, office workers everywhere.. even though I had my cam in my bag, didn't take it out though.. sure there maybe many shooting opportunities, like architecture.. only had one hand free and was still in half-u.. kinda akward with everybody wearing suits and bussiness attire..
tried to imagine what it would be like when I join the workforce.. rushing for meetings, deadlines to meet, projects to complete, clients to satisfy.. somehow, it doesn't seem appealing to me.. day in day out the same procedure, the same monotony..
sometimes life can be quite ironic.. when I'm in the company of friends, I find myself alone.. and when I'm alone, I find myself in the company of friends.. met Joshua and Kenneth on the MRT back home.. they reminded me of how it was in a boys school.. they talked about this gal whom they knew.. gals seem so normal to me now.. still quite worried for them for next year's SYF.. probably going back to help after promos..
ok.. back to Econs..

went to bishan to try to study.. went alone but met some friends along the way.. took 88 from my house and roughly 40 mins later arrived at Junction 8.. walked around for awhile to grab a bite.. then met Micheal with his bro.. strangely, it isn't the first time I coincidentally met him in J8.. then went to the newly opened library.. went to throw away the wrapper and when I came back to the entrance guess who I saw..
Swee Liang and Joel were there.. haven't really seen them since scrabble, they're Sec 4 now.. so joined the 2 of them.. the library was rather crowded even though it was a monday.. the floor area of the library wasn't that big though.. like the box-hanging-over-the-ledge design, it can be stuffy I imagine..
didn't spend much time there.. Joel was hungry (as usual) so went to J8 to find something to eat.. eventually went to Sakae.. while we were standing there queueing met someone else.. Chuan Xin was with her friends and so happens they were also going to Sakae to eat.. hahaa..

Sushi..
taught Joel an Economic concept called Utility.. after his 14th (or was it 15th?) plate his marginal utility became negative.. hahaa.. went back to the library cos Joel wanted to meet some friends of his, Swee Liang had to go off first so he went.. dunno whats with them and the library.. think they saw some gals they knew there or something..
two other gals Joel knew were there also.. there was an empty table next to them so sat there.. took out the maths papers I brought and attempted them.. Joel also did his own work.. strangely its only till I got out and went to buy a iced cappuccino that they spoke to each other.. while I was there they were like strangers.. infact I don't recall them saying hi or bye..
turns out there were quite some questions I didn't know how to do.. but then I wasn't studying with my classmates or anything, so can't ask anyone.. but not bad, got some stuff done..

wah.. just wasted 3 days of my life away.. been staying at home, doing nothing productive.. thats what happens to be when there's nothing planned for me to do.. promos less than a month away and I ought to be studying already.. but why arn't I? just lack the discipline to just sit down and really study.. my mind would wander off to somewhere else eventually..
just need someone to push me along, someone to believe in me.. that someone usually comes along in the form of a teacher.. (yeah I know teacher's day is over..) back in pri sch there was Mr James Chng or as we call him, Sir.. he was more like a mentor to us than just a teacher.. though there were times that we really made him angry but he really did have great trust in us.. Sec sch there was Mr Ng.. he had his hopes in me to become the band major but then I think I disappointed him..
well, the weekdays are up next.. was thinking of going to the newly opened Bishan Library to do some work.. anybody up for it??

time.. fading away..

first post of the month.. August ended wetly.. (if there's such a word)
yesterday was teacher's day celebrations.. thought of waking up early to bake some cookies for the pinic that we were suppose to have but didn't wake up early as planned.. the day started off with rain and carried out through out the day.. the programme for the celebrations were shifted to the hall since its raining.. started off with an ACES day workwork.. but don't think many were interested, some just stood there.. went to check with Cun Kang and Sherry who were covering the event.. brought my own camera but didn't take any pics of the celebrations.. why you ask me?? well, about a third of the class didn't come.. and it just doesn't feel right.. but the teacher's performances were great, very nice in fact..
went back to Montfort with Ming Wei and Gerald.. met Edison on the bus there.. there was a crowd outside the gate. tried to find our classmates but they weren't there yet.. almost all of the class came back.. great to see so many of my old classmates again, though we're in different schools now.. then went to the recently opened Cafe Cartel at Hougang Mall to eat.. the food's nice, but then $$..
went to Comex to take a look at the new 400D.. thinking of getting a dSLR for some time.. the 350D quite worth for its price, but then didn't like its small LCD screen and grip.. the 30D on the other hand has a nice 2.5 inch LCD and a much better grip though heavier.. of course it cost much much more..
